Flutist and Teacher

Flutist

Although most of my time is dedicated to arts administering and teaching, I do still enjoy playing my flute and am available for small gigs, predominantly weddings, funerals, retirement homes, and holiday parties. As this is not my primary source of income, my rates are very affordable and flexible. I’m also happy to connect with some other “mostly retired” musicians, to practice and perform in a relaxed environment.

Flute Lessons

I provide flexible and affordable flute lessons to beginning and intermediate students of all ages. I adjust my methods based on the needs and goals of each individual student, with the goal of everyone learning in a stress-free environment and fostering a love of this instrument and its music.

The video here is of a 6th grade student and I performing “A Whole New World”, which I arranged for her, at a recital at the North End Music and Performing Arts Center.

Lesson Requirements

Students must have access to their own flute, either purchased or rented, and are required to attend their weekly lesson on time. I will provide the music to be practiced. Students should expect to practice 1 - 5 hours per week depending on age and level.

Just for fun

Here’s a video from 2007, my junior year of high school, when the Concord-Carlisle High School Concert Band played a concert in Sapporo, Japan, with the Sapporo-Shiroishi Wind Ensemble. I’m the extremely jet-lagged piccolo player.
